Many times criteria are marked using a score (for example, 0 - 5). Typically these individual scores are added or summed up. The total score is then used to indicate the result of the inspection.

Field ID can handle any mix of scoring ranges on one checklist and the scores can be added up using either the Sum or Average. With the total value of the score you can then tell Field ID what score indicates a Pass or Fail.

For a full description on how to setup scoring please see our help documentation at help.fieldid.com.

  Numeric Data Type
When setting up Event Forms (checklists) you will now have another data type to select from. The Queued will display all assets and events that are still on your device and have yet to be uploaded. Lite Users & Employee Read-Only Users

We have introduced a new level of user in this Field ID release. Currently there are Full and Read-Only users. The new Lite User will fit right between the two of them. Lite users are purchased just like Full Users but at a reduced cost.

Here is how the three user types look side-by-side:
The other change with this is if you have Read-Only users you will now be able create Read-Only users for Employees of your company. This will allow them to login and run reports and view data.

   Asset Homepage

This page shows everything from the attribute information to the last event that was performed. The current asset home page has remained unchanged for almost two years now. While the current design works well, the layout of the information isn’t the most efficient. We have attempted to make the presentation of the Asset Home page more streamlined, easier to read and show more information.

   Wild Card Searches

On the Assets, Reporting and Schedules screen you can now use wildcards
to broaden your searching. Here’s how they work. In any free-form text
field you can enter the wildcard character * before or after your
criteria. For example, let’s say we were searching for a location and we
wanted to find everything that contained ‘Building’. We can simply type
*Building* into the Location field. You will now see all
Locations that contain the word Building. We could also type *Building
or Building* to narrow down the search.

Archive Owners

When managing your customer or job sites you can now archive any record.
Simply click on the Archive link and the customer or job site will be
moved over the the Archive tab. You can unarchive these at any time by
clicking on the Unarchive link.

Data Sync
This is the biggest and most exciting of this release. We have
re-designed the data sync in Field ID from the ground up. What we have
come up with is a faster, easier to user and more robust transfer of
data. Here are some of the highlights:

Speed, speed and more speed. Here are some benchmarks for
downloading 550 Assets: Current Version: 46 minutes - New Version: 11:46 minutes (5:01 without events)

Time-elapsed and time remaining giving constant feedback

Resume download if the internet connection is lost

    New easier-to-use interface

Smart updating ensures that only the assets that have been
modified will be downloaded

You can now choose to download only assets or assets and past
events

   Last Login Date
When you view your list of users, you will now see a last login date.
This will help to see which users are logging into their Field ID
account. If you see “– ” this indicates we do not have a last login date
recorded for this specific user.

Extras and Addons

We now have a brand-new snazzy Extras and Add-ons screen.
This is where you can download Extras and Add-ons to use along side
Field ID. This includes Field ID for Windows Mobile devices among
others. Look for the Extras and Add-ons link from your dashboard.

Assigned To

A previous
blog post talked in depth about this feature. Assigned To will
allow you to assign assets or equipment to employees. This is
particularly useful when you need to track who has specific equipment
and when it needs to be returned. The Assigned To feature can be enabled
in the Setup under System Settings. Once it is enabled, you can add the
ability to update the Assigned To on any inspection or event that you
complete.

Schedules Tab Visible to End User Accounts
When any of your customers or contractors login to your Field ID account they will now be able to see the Schedule information for each asset. When viewing an asset a new tab called "Schedules" will be visible which will have all upcoming scheduled events for this piece of equipment.

   Overview
of New Features in Field ID Mobile 1.21

Better Mobile Connections

Connecting to the Internet with Windows Mobile Devices has never been
easier: We have fully updated how Field ID uses Active Sync to connect
to the Internet. When you launch Field ID Mobile you will see some new
connection arrows. If they are Red, that indicates that Field ID Mobile
is not connected to the internet. If they are Green, that indicates that
you are connected. You will now get instant visual representation if
Field ID is connected to the Internet.

Identify now defaults to Organizational Unit
Currently when identifying a asset on Field ID Mobile the Owner drop down is blank. We have changed that to default to your Organizational Unit. This will allow for quicker identification.

Add New Event Confirmation
The "Add New Event" button that is present when doing an inspection now has a popup warning message. This will ensure that you don't accidentally submit your inspection and start a new one.
