Posted by Tariq Berry on 14 June 2011 01:06 PM

In order to connect your ES400 to a cellular net work you need to purchase a SIM card from your cellular provider to enable this service.

You also need the APN settings for your carrier. You can obtain these by phoning your carrier's support or by searching their website.

Here are a few common ones:

Bell Canada:

  • APN: pda.bell.ca

  • APN: sp.telus.com

Rogers:

  • APN: internet.com

AT&T

  • APN: wap.cingular

To configure your ES400 please follow these steps.

  • Press the Windows button on the screen or on the keyboard
  • Tap Settings
  • Tap Connections
  • Tap Connections again.
  • Tap "Add a new Modem Connection" under "My ISP"
  • Enter the name for the connection and select GPRS under "Select a Modem". Click Next
  • Type in the Access Point Name (APN) for your carrier and click next.
  • Unless specified by your carrier leave all the fields on this page blank. Click Finish.

You have now set-up your data connection. To test it, open Internet Explorer and go to cnn.com. If you are unable to access the internet, please check the settings you entered and/or call your cellular service provider to make sure you have data priviledges on your account.
